Message for the Iranian Students
Central University of Venezuela, Caracas, January 7, 2010
Iranian students:
This New Year will be the year of the young liberators, openers of a new cycle of life in the world for the
welfare of all citizens, and the routing of our way of doing politics in our spaces.
It will be the consolidation of a movement that has been characterized by being
a faithful servant of the principles of university autonomy and the Constitution of the Republic.
It will be the year where we will gather the fruits of the fight we have begun and we will show to those who try to silence the voices of the future, we will continue breaking paradigms due to our way of being, people and their messages, for our actions and footprints left behind.
As the strength, commitment and conviction mark our footsteps, the youth can rest easily because we
will have hope in the near future, because the fate of our nations have been irrevocably fixed to hope, for people who love their freedom finally succeed in obtaining it.
Students, who have not been shaken by the violent passions of revenge, corruption and greed, like those
now in power, are permitted under all laws of equity and history to raise our voices in the name of the
motherland and its people. We have been and will always be proud of our glorious Universities, which have profound impact over the population and the future of our Countries. Fellow fighters for freedom! Many greetings and wishes of infinite joy, strength and courage from the distance, from Venezuela, so that in this New Year, this new opportunity, we can return with clear consciences to continue fighting for men and women without ruined accounts with historical justice, to assume the leading role.
“The Rock”
The distracted tripped over it. The violent used it as a projectile. The entrepreneur built with it. The farmer, tired, used it to rest. Drummond poeticized. David slew Goliath. Michelangelo created beautiful sculptures! In all cases the difference was not in stone but in man.
The year 2010 is the same for all, but it depends on what we do with it.
Happy 2010!!
Let’s keep fighting for the dream of freedom and democracy, continue raising our voices fearlessly towards
a victory that is coming and not surrender, because in our hands are the destinies of the future of our country!

Mensaje de Año Nuevo 2010
Estudiantes:
Este año que llega será de los jóvenes del Bicentenario, abridores de un nuevo ciclo de vida en Venezuela para el bienestar de todos los ciudadanos, y el encaminamiento de nuestra forma de hacer política desde el seno de nuestros espacios. Será el de la consolidación de un movimiento que se ha caracterizado por ser fiel sirviente de los principios de la Autonomía Universitaria y de la Constitución de la República. Será el año de una gestión en la FCU que romperá paradigmas por su forma y su fondo, por su gente y sus mensajes, por sus hechos y sus huellas.
En la medida que el respeto, el compromiso y la convicción marquen nuestros pasos, los jóvenes podremos estar tranquilos porque esta esperanza la tendríamos como una predicción, los sucesos coronarían nuestros esfuerzos, porque el destino de la Universidad se ha fijado irrevocablemente del lado de la Nación, pues los pueblos que aman su libertad por fin la logran.
Los estudiantes, que no nos hayamos agitados por las violentas pasiones de la venganza, la corrupción ni la codicia, como los que hoy detentan el poder, estamos autorizados por todas las leyes de la equidad y la historia para ilustrarles sobre los bienes entendidos intereses de la Patria. Es así, como a golpe de gestos, hemos venido logrando un sitio en la memoria de los venezolanos, haciéndoles recordar como el “Atlántico Azul” de las boinas de la generación libertadora se batió en la tormenta gloriosa, salpicando de espuma y de sangre los rostros de quienes pretendieron impedir el brote de la Patria Democrática.
Nos hemos sentido y seguiremos estando siempre orgullosos de nuestra gloriosa UCV, de ésta que seguirá dejando huellas en el País, de ésta que tiene a los mejores. Muchos deseos e infinitas salutaciones de alegría les dejamos en la distancia, para que en este nuevo año, esta nueva oportunidad, podamos regresar con nuestras conciencias ya en la reflexión de seguir luchando porque mujeres y hombres nuevos sin cuentas insolventes con la justicia histórica, asuman el papel dirigente.
“La Piedra”
El distraído tropezó con ella. El violento la utilizó como proyectil. El emprendedor, construyó con ella. El campesino, cansado, la utilizó de asiento. Drummond la poetizó. David, mató a Goliat. ¡Michelangelo le sacó la más bella de las esculturas!
En todos los casos, la diferencia no estuvo en la piedra sino en el hombre… El año 2010, es el mismo para todos, depende de nosotros lo que hagamos con él.
Feliz Año 2010!!!!
